Creating a Home Addition Haven
Tasked with enhancing a small home with a significant addition, we embraced this challenge with creativity and passion. The homeowner wanted extra space for a living room on the main level and a bigger master bedroom with an ensuite bath on the second floor.
We lead this project from the concept stage of brainstorming with the homeowner, to the first site meeting, creating the plans with the architect, through to beginning construction. Given the small space around exterior of the house and limited room for equipment, helical piers were used to save space and money (when compared to a traditional concrete basement).
The Finished Product
We added 150 square feet to the second-floor master bedroom, including a walk-in closet with custom shelving closet system. A 200 square-foot four-piece ensuite bathroom with a custom tile shower, in floor heating and free-standing soaker tub was also installed. Other elements of the project included renovation of the existing second floor bathroom, installing a stair lift and adding a small main floor powder room and installing new hardwood flooring throughout the main level.
Once the addition was complete, we elevated the curb appeal of the property by installing siding on the exterior, building a wraparound deck. A freshly paved driveway pulled the look together. The addition created an additional 700 square feet of living space and created the haven the homeowner envisioned.
